Hubby and I got home at 1:30 last night. We had a great time at a house party.
Big game of "Outburst"... ladies against the gents as we wound our way till midnight.
Big meal at midnight, ham, lobster chowder, mushrooms and scallops, chicken wings, lasagna, rolls, cheese trays, spinach dip and bread, ...desserts. drinks.
It was really nice to go out and kick up our heels into the new year..2005.
This morning we open our "New Years stockings".... and have lots of family group hugs and kisses. (We don't do Christmas stockings but have new years stockings instead. The kids really look forward to that me too.
Well.. gotta go and start making the big new Years breakfast for my family... although I'm still full from last night.

Best books I read this year
Angels and Demons and Davinci Code both by Dan Brown
I'm reading Waiting for time right now a sequel to Random Pasage both written by Bernice Morgan. I really like these two books.
My worst read this year was a book written by Ann marie Macdonald call Fall on your knees. It was a long trudge through that one. It was a book recommended by oprah..but I sure as hell don't know why. dark and dismal read for me personally. The quetion really is, why do I finish reading books that I don't like and I'm not enjoying. ..sheesh on me.
I'm reading Harry potters The Order of the Phoenix.. out loud to my 9 year old now. We both really enjoy it. We have been very careful not to let anyone tells us what happens in the story.

kaye, author best known for the far pavilions, died january 29 at the age of 95. jack paar, talk show pioneer, died january 27 at the age of 85. bob keeshan, better known as captain kangaroo, died january 23 at the age of 76.
This guy is very important to me and my canadian roots. What a legacy of promoting the Canadian History.
Pierre Berton, Canadian literary icon, died November 30 at the age of 84.
He's almost a hero in my eyes.

I didn't know she passed away.

ok so maybe i'm being played but believe it or not, i just got a letter from the president, that's right, the president of the united states of america!!!
he was thanking many of his constituents for supporting him in his campaign.
and get this, unlike the the problems that are resulting from donald rumsfeld's not taking the time to sign the letters, notifying their loved ones of the soldiers deaths, this appears to be written out in his own personal handwriting.

i just started watching it from the 1st season this past fall.
i love it!!!
I got hooked on the first season. Used to make all my children go to bed early so I could watch it...a little over the top for my kids.. but for some reason I got hooked on it.
Haven't seen any of it much since then. It jumped networks here and I don't get it anymore..
